Idan Raichel… Peu le connaissent mais c’est un grand. Idan Raichel est un clavériste israëlien surdoué qui a créé un projet, The Idan Raichel Project, réunissant plus de 70 musiciens et chanteurs. Symbole d’un mouvement multiculturel, ces artistes viennent du Soudan, d’Ethiopie, de Colombie, d’Israël et autres pays… Des chanteurs Yéménites, Musulmans, Chrêtiens et juifs, ce projet est la plus belle image d’un mélange musical et culturel. Les paroles sont dans toutes les langues, les instruments n’ont pas de limite, allant du Luth à la Derbouka, sans oublier cet artiste extraordinaire qui joue avec un tonneau rempli d’eau et un cylindre étrange. Le résultat est magique. Le concert se passait dans le Fillmore Irving Plaza, une salle malheureusement dépourvue d’une bonne sono, ce qui est d’autant plus regrettable que l’intérêt principal de Idan Raichel est la qualité musicale. La quinzaine d’artistes ont cependant réussi à rendre un résultat digne de ce qu’on espérait à l’écoute de leurs 2 albums. La visite de Maatisyahu, un chanteur de reggae hassidique (oui oui, ça existe, et c’est très médiatisé ici) a donné encore un peu plus d’émotion à un concert simplement réussi. De façon plus personelle, je me suis acheté une nouvelle (vraie) caméra Sony, que je n’ai pas eu le droit d’emmener dans la salle, et qui de plus me cause de nombreux problèmes. Les vidéos sont donc de l’appareil photo de mes parents (que j’ai emmené à ce concert, et qui étaient conquis), donc désolé pour la qualité.

Yes, a quotation of Idan Raichel to better understand him: “Our ability to live in peace with each other, depends first and foremost on our ability to accept all that is different between us. I want to get closer to you, but le me be who I am. I welcome you coming closer to me, while respecting who you are. On our own individual paths we areall looking for the bread, the water, the wind and a dignified life. And yes, we all cling to love”
